What a Gwaan – National is a national initiative in Canada produced by volunteers and is committed to connect Jamaicans in Canada, and those interested in Jamaica and Jamaican culture, on social media.  The goal is to promote the recognition of the Jamaican culture in a positive and authentic way through sharing about our cultural heritage, cuisine, music and the challenges that affect Jamaicans in Canada.  
 
What a Gwaan – National is committed to representing Jamaicans in Canada by sharing authentic stories, providing solutions, and engaging the minds of its viewers.   The program is a collaboration of Jamaican associations in Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, and Calgary.

What is the primary focus of What a Gwaan - National
The program aims to share the stories of Jamaicans and Canadians who interact with Jamaica, Jamaicans and the issues that affect them. It is intended to educate, inform and entertain while promoting Jamaican culture and the perspectives of Jamaicans in the diaspora
What a Gwaan – National is the output of a team of volunteers based in Calgary, Toronto, Montreal and Winnipeg representing the local associations.
